The Deli lists Bouillabaisse as a mixed up bunch of fishes, like a chowder and that is what the last two days of Florida have been like, mixed up in a bunch of ways.

Last time we shared a table here at the Deli, I had been to Epcot Center…sigh…

Then Canada decided to send America a little kiss in the form of some unusally COLD weather. It never got out of the 60s on Tuesday and it took all day for it to even get there. Only saving grace…there WAS sun…amazing what that yellow ball can do for a soul!

So, we got up and decided that we would indeed head back to the gardens, but not before we did some ‘to-do’s.

1. Go to breakfast at this AWESOME restaurant called TooJays. This place would be welcome competition for the Deli in Pittsburgh…I may suggest a franchise possibility to the bouncin baby boy (henceforth known as Triple B) and his best bud, THE easter bunny.  They’ve been talking about a joint business venture since high school…time for some action! DD would LOVE this place too.

Anyhow, we had a nice leisurely breakfast that included real, honest to god southern grits. If you have never tasted real honest to god southern grits, you are missing something quite grand. DON’T ever eat instant grits….

2. Go to the postoffice to mail a package off to Belgium …WRONGO…bad move…I forgot it was TAX DAY…I walked into the local postoffice and found about 45 people in line…Belgium can wait..did a 180 and went back to the car …this is 2008, don’t people know about online filing? I mean between TurboTax and TaxCut, there isn’t a person in this country who should be in line at the last minute waiting for stamps to file their taxes! I mean, you can even find FREE ways to file as well…sheesh.

3. Head off to the Leu Gardens.  I really wish I could get some pictures uploaded at the Deli already.  What a beautiful place. This Orlando gentleman donated his home with 50 acres of absolutely gorgeous vegetation. It seems that he and his wife liked to travel and they brought back a plant from every place they went. There was a butterfly garden, a marsh garden, a rose garden, a cottage garden, a vegetable garden, a garden arranged so people with disabilities could work with the earth in a fully integrated manner, a ‘white’ garden, I could go on, but I think you get the picture and while walking between all of these gardens, there was every kind of of tree you might imagine including bamboo!

4. Next stop- Staples for packing materials for the Belgium package…remember, I couldn’t get it at the postoffice.  Great store, Staples…easy button really works.

5. Last stop, after dinner…COLD STONE ice cream for dessert. I am an addict, an ice cream addict. It can be 40 degrees below zero and I can eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, dessert, you name it. If you have not yet experienced the pleasure of one of the Cold Stone style ice cream stores…YOU MUST find one and immerse yourself in the  throws of  gastronomic ecstacy. Nearly better than sex I tell you!

And what did I do for my last day in the Sunshine state? Laundry; one hour full body massage; laundry; drink two double Long Island Ice Teas (top shelf, no less) and cheer the MIGHTY PENGUINS on to victory. We finally found a sports bar that aired the game…sweet, sweet victory.

So, tomorrow I head back to the ‘Burgh and get the Deli set up for some more tummy ticklers: gefilte fish, matzoh ball soup, harosets, farfel kugel…

Like I said, bouillabaisse  🙂
