And Kitties Make 5

Well, I lost Lilacspecs and her baby Rex to CB in Belgium. I thought I would live just fine.

 Wrongo!

I NEVER, and I mean NEVER in a million years figured I would miss my daughter and her cat like I did. Total withdrawl pains.

There was the crying. That lasted about three days.

Then there were the dreams. They haven’t stopped yet.  Dreams of Specs when she was a little girl and others of when she was a big girl and then a bigger girl.

Then there was the phantom Rex sightings—erm, nonsightings…the little paw and face under the door waiting for me to come up the stairs; the gentle paw tap on my knee to play fetch (I shit you not folks–Rex used to very gently tap me on my knee to ask me to play fetch with him—what a cat!).

Then there was the empty space…on the bed…the little bugger used to wait til DD and I fell asleep and then would jump in between us and snuggle–mostly with DD, but sometimes with me.

And, of course I cannot forget the little mew for breakfast—no kidding, just a tiny little mew, but effective nonetheless.

Man, do I miss my kid and her cat!

So, of course I do what any self-reliant woman does….I got me TWO new KITTIES…not one, TWO.

Oh kind readers, please let me introduce you to my babies…Samson and Delila…7 weeks old (actually brother and sister–I couldn’t choose, I had to have both—BLESS DD!)  I must say that naming these tots was as difficult as choosing names for our children…here were a few of the choices we had:

Tristan and Isolde;  Stormy and Cloudy;  Stormie and Smokey;  Cirrus and Stratus (that was 2nd place);  Sonny and Cher;  Bonnie and Clyde;  Smoke and Mirra;  Magic and Mirra;  Apollo and Athena;  Heart and Soul;  Buttons and Bows; Perseus and Caliope,

Then we heard the song “Hey There Delila” on the radio and DD looked at me and said Samson and Delila and I said, I LIKE IT!   Here they are…

Forgive me for the sexist coloring here…Samson in the blue collar-white legs and paws; Delila in the pink collar-gray legs white paws.

I am jealous. You have KITTENS! My cats are probably jealous from me just looking at them.

Well, my Arthurian background makes me automatically like Tristan and Isolde best, but I gotta say, Smoke and Mirra? how clever. 🙂

CableGirl–we were having hallucinations about names….Tristan and Isolde was a favorite of mine as was Cirrus and Stratus and then Smoke and Mirra…but I heard that fateful song and Samson and Delila won it!

Carrie–you can’t help but LOVE these two…they are more fun to watch and play with than anything….well, almost anything!

    Judie–Jethro would’ve been a great playmate!

Nancy—I may just bring to class with me one day!

Cami–feel free to use the pictures to get your cats to conform….let em now that you have OPTIONS! 😛
